Q: How can I install the Liquality Wallet browser extension?

To download and install the Liquality Wallet, go to our official chrome store listing in Chrome, Brave, or Edge and install the extension safely from the Chrome Web store.

Always double-check that the extension ID matches: kpfopkelmapcoipemfendmdcghnegimn

Like other browser-extension wallets, Web3 Injection for using dApps requires permissions to read and change all your data on the websites you visit. Liquality never actually reads any data on the websites you visit - the permission allows us to inject the Web3 API. You can check our source code here.

Q: How can I update my Liquality Wallet?

Your wallet should update automatically. However, here are the steps in case your wallet hasn’t automatically updated:

BEFORE anything else: Always double-check you have the correct seed phrase backed up.

Check the current version you have installed. Go to Settings, and check the version at the bottom.

Settings in the hamburger menu
Wallet version on the Settings page

Once you’ve checked the version, go to https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/liquality-wallet/kpfopkelmapcoipemfendmdcghnegimn

If your version is older than the current version, you can "Remove extension" at the bottom of that page and redownload the extension. BUT BEFORE YOU DO: please know that your wallet activity will be erased after you re-install your Liquality wallet, as your activity history only lives inside the current installation. So if you re-install, you will see a blank state.

Alternatively, you can activate the Chrome Developer mode by right-clicking on top of the Liquality extension Icon, then go to ‘Manage extensions’ and start the Developer mode. If you can't find the ‘Manage extensions’ button, copy this link and paste it into the search bar: chrome://extensions/?id=kpfopkelmapcoipemfendmdcghnegimn . With this feature, you can manually update your Liquality wallet by clicking on the ‘Update’ button that will be available every time a new version comes up.

Restoring and Backing Up Seed Phrases

Q: How can I import an existing wallet using a seed phrase?

If you just installed a new version of the Liquality Wallet, you can click on “Import with seed phrase,” then import your 12 or 24-word seed phrase.

New wallet page - Import with a seed phrase

Similarly, to restore an old seed phrase in your Liquality Wallet, you can (1) lock your wallet, (2) click on ‘Forgot password? Import with seed phrase’, (3) then enter your 12 or 24-word seed phrase to restore your wallet.

Import with seed phrase option

Note: as of 2022-09-06, multiple accounts are not yet supported. As a result, you may see a discrepancy between the balances your Liquality Wallet shows vs. your actual balance associated with your seed phrase.

Q: How can I import an existing wallet using a private key json file?

You can’t yet import a private key into your Liquality Wallet as of 2022-09-06; only seed phrases. However, this feature will be in development in the coming months.

Q: Where can I find and backup my seed phrase?

When you create a new wallet inside the Liquality Wallet, you will be prompted through a series of steps to backup your seed phrase.

If you want to access your seed phrase again, you can: Go to the top right hamburger menu in the Liquality Wallet extension > Backup Seed > Write down your 12 word seed phrase in order. The seed phrase is the only way to restore your wallet. Write it down, verify it and then store it securely. Only you have access to this seed phrase - our team cannot access it and will not be able to help you recover your funds.

Note: this single seed phrase derives the private keys to all your crypto (Bitcoin, Ethereum, etc.) - please handle with caution!

Using Dapps

Q: How can I use dApps with the Liquality Wallet?

Before using an dApp, first go to the menu button, select Settings, then toggle on the “Default Web3 Wallet” option.

Afterward, go to the "Connect dApp" dropdown selector and choose the blockchain where the dApp is.

Then go to the dApp (make sure you are on the correct URL) and try to connect again by selecting the “Injected” option or “MetaMask”. You can check a list of dApps for each blockchain on our website.

Tip: Try having a dedicated browser for each wallet extension (eg. chrome for liquality, brave for metamask) to minimize your chances of bugs and optimize your experience.

See Q: How can I receive tokens to my Liquality Wallet?

After creating your wallet, you’ll need to add funds to your Liquality Wallet. Then select the pair you want to swap, enter in the amount you want to swap, adjust the network fees, read the terms, and if you agree with the quote, click ‘Confirm’ so the swap process can start. You can always change the network to Testnet and try to make a swap, but remember, the funds on Testnet are for testing purposes only.

Q: Does Liquality charge fees?

Liquality does not charge fees for transactions or swaps. However, the market rate for a pair is determined by the swap providers, who usually charge a 1% spread. Additionally, users will need to pay mining fees, which are charged by the network.

Q: How can I swap through Uniswap within the Liquality wallet?

To use Uniswap as your swap provider, first select an Ethereum asset, like ETH, then click ‘Swap’. Select another Ethereum asset as your destination - in this example, we’re going from ETH to USDC.

In the wallet you’ll see the swap provider on the ‘Rate’ area. You will likely see a quote here from Uniswap,  1inch, or another swap provider. If you see Uniswap already, then simply select the network fees you’d like to use, click “Review”, then “Initiate Swap” accordingly.

However, if you don’t see Uniswap, you can click “See all 3 quotes” and manually select Uniswap. Then select your network fees, click “Review”, then ‘Initiate Swap’ accordingly.

You can click on “Swap Types” to learn more about the different swap providers within the Liquality Wallet.

If you have suggestions for new DEXes / dapps you’d like to see natively integrated within the Liquality Wallet, let us know through our feedback form or our Discord channel.

Of course, you always have the option to manually connect to Uniswap and swap through their interface rather than directly within the Liquality Wallet - see Q: How can I use ETH dapps with the Liquality Wallet?
